DB to join LGSO in performance of Verdi Requiem
24/04/08 16:24
We are fostering a warm and mutually
beneficial relationship with both the LGSO - London Gay Symphony
Orchestra - and the London-based lgbt Choirs.
The LGSO have invited us to either sing or play with them in London for a performance of Verdi's magnificent Requiem in the Cadogan Hall on Sunday 6th July 2008
For those that know the work you will just need to brush up your knowledge of the piece, and for those who don't I'm happy to organise downloadable midi practice files for you to practice at home with, and to lead some preparatory Day Schools. We will also look at going down to London for one or more of our friends's rehearsals
If we go down as a sizeable group we could look at travelling together. The LGSO will look at ways of helping us with travel costs for the performance and of accommodating us in their own members's homes
This would be a reciprocal arrangement whereby we would host their members as performers in our Autumn Concert of the pieces by Handel, Mozart and Faure's Requiem
We'll discuss all this at our next rehearsals, but, for now, if you want further information take a look at the LGSO's website: www.lgso.org.uk/Verdi
